اجزای اصلی دوربین مدار بسته شبکه ، دوربین یا دوربین های مدار بسته شبکه و کابل شبکه می باشند.
یکی دیگر از اجزای اصلی دوربین مدار بسته شبکه سرور شبکه ویدیویی یا سرویس دهنده ویدیویی IP است. هدف از سرور ویدیویی انتقال سیگنال های ارسالی از سمت دوربین مدار بسته از طریق کابل، برای انتشار بر روی شبکه IP است. سرویس دهنده ویدیویی IP مجهز به نرم افزاری است که به کاربران اجازه دسترسی به دوربین ها را می دهد. این دسترسی از طریق مرورگرهای اینترنتی استاندارد موجود بر روی کامپیوترها امکان پذیر می شود. برخی سرورها به شما اجازه می دهند تا از طریق نرم افزار NVR به دوربین های خود متصل شوید.
